The Work-Study Programme is a laudable scheme designed to assist indigent students with the following objectives:

  • Alleviating the burden of financing their education.
  • Providing students with the opportunity to work on a part-time basis and earn some money in the process.
  • Enabling students to acquire useful work experience while pursuing their course of study at the University.
  • Exposing students to the intricacies of work-life.
  • Enabling students to appreciate the dignity of labor and the essence of working.
  • Preparing students for gainful employment after graduation.
  • Helping students imbibe good work ethics.

The program operates under guidelines and laid-down rules established by the University Advisory Committee on the Work-Study Programme. Students are typically placed in part-time work situations.

The programme is open to all matriculated undergraduate students, especially those from indigent backgrounds, who are pursuing full-time courses at Crawford University, Faith City, Igbesa. Interested students must complete an application form obtainable from the Work-Study Office, which must be endorsed by the student’s head of department. Additionally, students must attend an interview to establish their suitability for the job, conducted by the Work-Study Committee. Student-workers are normally remunerated from the financial contributions made available by the University. The stipulated hours for the Work-Study Programme are a maximum of ten (10) hours per week and two (2) hours per day. No student is allowed to work more than two (2) hours per day.
