The College of Business and Social Sciences is one of the two Colleges in Crawford University, that took off in October 2005 following the formal license of the University.

The College currently runs six departments, housing ten Programmes namely: B.Sc Degree programmes in Accounting; Banking and Finance; Business Administration; Economics; Marketing; Industrial Relations and Personnel Management; Political Science and International Relations; Public Administration; Sociology and Mass Communication.  These programmes are continually updated to take cognizance of innovations, development and international best practices in the disciplines.


All our Programmes are duly accredited by National University Commission (NUC). We are also accredited by the Higher Education in Africa Quality Assurance and Accreditation – Africa Union & European Union (HEAQAA – AU & EU).


The College has so far graduated nine sets of students. Many of our graduates are establishing themselves and are making progress in their chosen careers. Many are pursuing their postgraduate studies in Nigerian Universities, while a good number of them are in Europe and North America. Already, some of them are showing interest in our existing postgraduate programmes (in Business Administration, Economics and Accounting) while the University is still making efforts to ensure that more programmes are floated at the postgraduate level.

The College is known for Creativity and Innovation and Scholarship.  Hence the College has a peer-reviewed Biannual (March/September) Journal called Crawford Journal of Business and Social Science. It is currently an online Journal. (Visit the website: www.cjbasscru.org).

The College in furtherance of excellence always organized Workshops and Training for staff and students. In 2017/2018 Session the College organized the  following events: Supportive  Staff on-the-job Training; Course Adviser’s Training; Project Supervision Workshop for Lecturers; Cultural & Diversity Day for Staff and Students; Management Development Training for Corporate Executives; Research Lightning and Gallery; and also rewarded excellence in research efforts of the faculty.
