PHYSICAL RESUMPTION AFTER CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR BREAK
Office of the Registrar & Secretary to Council
CIRCULAR TO STUDENTS AND PARENTS
Sequel to the recent approval by the National Universities Commission (NUC) vide Memorandum Ref. No. NUC/ES/138/Vol. 63/153 dated 6th January, 2021, on the resumption of academic activities in Nigerian universities, the Vice Chancellor has approved, on behalf of Senate, the physical resumption of students in the University on Monday, January 18, 2021. Students are therefore directed to return to campus on the said date. Late resumption will not be condoned.
For the avoidance of doubt, First Semester lectures of the 2020/2021 academic session which were resorted to, and conducted via on-line mode since January 4, 2021, continues physically from Tuesday, January 19, 2021.
In view of the serious concerns raised in public domain in recent times about the outbreak of the second wave of the insidious Covid-19 pandemic, all students, staff and visitors to the University are to comply strictly with the recommended safety protocols such as
- wearing of face masks,
- social/physical distancing,
- use of hand sanitizers
- In addition, all motorists and their passengers are required to undergo temperature screening and hand sanitizing at the University main entrances and
- other safety measures, both at the entrances and within the University campus.
This is necessary so as to avoid any embarrassment by Security personnel or other Authorities of the University.
All and sundry are therefore enjoined to carefully study the above directives, and adhere strictly to the guidelines, to ensure their safety at all times.
Thank you for your understanding and continued cooperation.
